On 17th of September we gathered together Abbey Road Institute Johannesburg and switched our patch sheets and xlr cables for a personalised celebration of completion of our current alumni.
Our three groups of students that completed the programme were all together for a special evening in which we celebrated their accomplishment and camaraderie.
It was a remarkable moment, to have almost all our alumni, in the same room. Many haven’t met each other till then, but worked in the same space for a year.
“I’m really grateful to have experienced this programme. Completing it felt like an affirmation that I can craft a record and express myself to my fullest musically.”
– Chaylon J Mccarthy, graduate
Buhle, CEO of Lindiwe catering services, went above and beyond to help create a special moment for each students. One of which was creating vinyl placemats with their name on them and a list of their productions at the Institute.
After an introduction and congratulations from our Academic Coordinator Ben Ludik and CEO Christi van der Colff, we shared a meal together and listened to memories from each student for the past two years.
As per tradition at the Abbey Road Institute Johannesburg, we ended off with a good ol’ midnight braai.
We are extremely proud of each graduate. Completing the programme at Abbey Road Institute is an amazing achievement that we celebrate with you. We can’t wait to see where life takes you!
A special thanks to Paul du Toit from @clear_cutph photography for capturing the night through his lens. You can access the photo library from this year’s Hand over ceremony here.
